Position Overview:
The Deputy Project Director (Technical) will oversee the technical assessment and implementation of energy-saving solutions across industrial factories. This position is responsible for ensuring that energy audits, diagnostics, and upgrades are performed efficiently and meet the project's objectives. Working closely with the Project Director and technical teams, the role requires high-level project management, strategic leadership, and deep technical knowledge in energy efficiency within industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Strategy:
- Assist the Project Director in the overall leadership of the project, focusing on strategic technical objectives related to energy efficiency.
- Oversee and ensure the timely and successful execution of energy assessments and the implementation of solutions to optimize energy consumption in factories.
- Manage all technical aspects of the project, coordinating between internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
Technical Assessment & Energy Audits:
- Lead comprehensive energy audits of factories to identify inefficiencies, energy wastage, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure detailed technical reports on energy consumption are generated, identifying viable solutions that reduce costs and improve sustainability.
- Work with teams to design and implement technical solutions, such as upgrading equipment, optimizing processes, and integrating renewable energy.
Implementation & Monitoring:
- Ensure the successful deployment of energy-efficient technologies and processes, supervising engineers and technical contractors.
- Monitor the performance of implemented solutions to ensure they meet the projected energy savings and industrial performance standards.
- Create feedback mechanisms to continuously assess the success of solutions and adjust strategies as needed for improved outcomes.
Stakeholder Management:
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with governmental bodies, factory management, engineers, and external contractors.
- Present technical findings and project updates to senior leadership and the Project Steering Committee, ensuring alignment on goals and objectives.
- Lead discussions and negotiations with technology providers and contractors, ensuring cost-effectiveness and technical reliability.
Compliance & Standards:
- Ensure that all technical activities comply with Saudi Arabia’s regulations and international standards for energy efficiency.
- Regularly review technical progress against industry benchmarks and adapt strategies to ensure continuous improvement.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building:
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of technical experts, ensuring they are aligned with the project’s energy-saving goals.
- Promote knowledge-sharing within the team and with external partners, ensuring that lessons learned are incorporated into future strategies.
- Build technical capacity within the team to ensure sustained project success beyond the current initiative.
Financial & Resource Management:
- Oversee the technical budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet project goals.
- Work closely with the Project Director on resource planning and ensure that the technical implementation stays within budget and schedule.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Energy Engineering preferred).
- Advanced certifications in energy management (Certified Energy Manager or equivalent) would be highly valued.
Professional Experience:
- 15-20 years of experience, with at least 10 years in leadership roles in large-scale industrial projects focusing on energy efficiency.
- Proven track record of managing energy audits and implementing energy-saving solutions in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience with leading multi-disciplinary technical teams and managing external contractors.
- Experience in designing and executing projects that involve retrofitting, energy-efficient upgrades, and renewable energy integration.
Technical Expertise:
- Expertise in energy management systems, industrial machinery optimization, and energy audits.
- Strong understanding of local and international energy efficiency standards and regulations.
- Familiarity with digital tools for monitoring energy performance, such as IoT, smart grids, and EMS platforms.

- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to deliver projects within deadlines and budgets while meeting strategic goals.
